4 Steps to Creating a Strong Password
1. Longer is better! Use a minimum of 8 characters. The recommendation is to use 11 characters or more.
2. Complex passwords are better than words. Combining upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special characters makes passwords much more difficult to guess.
3. Don’t use obvious passwords. Avoid things like your nickname, pets’ or children’s names, other dictionary words, etc.
4. For help creating a stronger password, consider coming up with a phrase like “I love peanut butter cups for breakfast!” and shortening it to “ILpbc4b!”. This will make it easier for you to remember, but more difficult for hackers to guess.
